Ry Cooder - Crazy 'Bout An Automobile

From “Ry Cooder & The Moula Banda Rhythm Aces: Let’s Have A Ball”, a film by Les Blank taped at The Catalyst, Santa Cruz, CA on March 25′th 1987. Comment from MrBillindallas: Concert was from a two night run – the last of nine total dates on the NorCal tour. Shot on 16mm film with an audio remote truck in the alley. Movie was released in Europe but not in the US. Great band, at one of the best venues in the ‘States, the last two nights of the mini-tour they were truly on fire. One venue was so small the band filled the stage and the dance floor.

Ry Cooder is one of a kind and I can’t wait to hear “Pull up some dust…..” I would be happy to have a tenth of his talent. (or a hundredth)
He never fails to amaze me.

Absolutely – Bonnie is one of my favorite female performers – Bonnie, Sonny and John Mooney could do the vocals.

Ry always knows who to partner with. Note Flaco Jiminez on accordian adding that Norteno flavor.

  22. RBShea - April 12, 2012

Throw in Bonnie Raitt and you’re there.

Boy, I’d love to hear a slide guitar jam with Ry, Sonny Landreth, Roy Rogers, John Mooney and Camile Badouin from the Radiators. Slide guitar heaven!!!!
